Jon Champagne Appointed Road Agent for Two Years

Andover continues building its Highway Department

By Jon Champagne

Greetings from the Road Agent,
Hi to the Town of Andover.  For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Jon Champagne. I have lived in town my whole life. You may also know my wife, Joane, and my children, Tyler and Julianna. I have owned my own company, J & B Landscaping and Excavation, LLC, for 28 years. I am also a Master Road Scholar.
I recently received a call from the Town Office asking if I wanted to be the new appointed Road Agent. I met with the Select Board and agreed to sign on for a two-year term.
I have been an elected Road Agent in the past for the Town for a total of six years. While I have been out of politics for a bit, it was nice to come back to a Road Agent office, tool shed, and a sand/salt shed at the White Oak Pit.
The town also owns a grader, an F-550 truck, a Ford six-wheeler, mowers, and more. It is a good start to a full-time Highway Department.
As Road Agent, I’m appointed by the Select Board. I have been meeting with the new board, Todd Goings, John Kinney, and Michele Dudek. Marj Roy, the Town Administrator, helps keep us all organized. Together, we all work as a team, and ultimately they are my boss.
My goal is to keep the town moving forward, keeping our roads safe, having a good maintenance program, and keeping within the budget.
If you have any road concerns or questions, please call the Town Office at 735-5332 or my office number at the Town’s White Oak Pit, which is 735-5287.
See you on the road!
