Thanks to a Community Effort, A New Flag Flies on the Town Green

By Marjorie M Roy
The flag is flying again on the Village Green!  The old flag was tattered, and the ropes needed to be replaced.  The community really came together to make this happen.  A huge “Thank you!” goes out to Bob Ward, Doug Phelps, the New Hampshire Electric Co-Op, American Legion Post #101, and Proctor Academy.
Bob and Doug coordinated the purchase of the flag, ropes, and clips.  Bob went to Flags Works and got the flag, The Co-Op installed the ropes using their bucket truck, and Bob coordinated an American Legion flag raising ceremony held on the Fourth of July.  The Village Green is Town property; Proctor Academy maintains it beautifully, and they also maintain the flag’s daily status. Thank you to all! Caption and photo: Marj Roy
