Mike Cryans is Dedicated and Competent; Vote for Another Term

By Kent Hackmann

I write to urge you to elect Mike Cryans for another term to represent us on the Governor’s Executive Council.

A major part of the councilor’s job, as Mike sees it, is representing the needs of the district and its constituents. Some issues high on his list are the state’s response to the Covid-19 Pandemic, particularly measures to limit new infections, and the challenge of opening schools. Also on his list of important issues are the lack of job opportunities, aging of the population, Medicaid expansion, internet access, and the improvement of roads and bridges.

Mike and the other four Executive Councillors advise the Governor on all matters and provide a check on the governor’s power. The Executive Councilors ensure the executive branch of state government is fiscally conservative and above reproach.

Mike Cryans has served the citizens of his district with distinction. He has demonstrated competence, commitment to the office, and dedication to the  interests of District 1 and to the state at large.

He brought to the Executive Council a lifelong commitment to service in the public and private sectors.  Before his election two years ago, he had an established record of excellence as a teacher, banker, financial consultant, and executive director of a nonprofit that dealt with substance misuse. He was County Commissioner in Grafton County for nineteen years. He served for 21 years as a member of the Commission of the $17 billion Unique 529-plan managed by Fidelity.

Mike has demonstrated his dedication and competence as an Executive Councillor.  We need to return him for another term.
