In most ads I read in last month’s Beacon placed by the Democrats, they used the word “democracy” frequently.  It felt like they were saying they were the only voters interested in democracy. The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines, in one case, that  democracy is: a government by the people especially rule of the majority. The word democracy most often refers to a form of government in which people choose leaders by voting. 

To my knowledge, democracy is embraced by everyone whether they are Democratic, Republican, Libertarian, Independents, or any other voter not included in this list. To clarify to use the term democracy, it does not pertain to one party. We all  practice and embrace being a part of our democracy in the United States by voting.
 
There is a saying, “Paper does not refuse ink.”  To me this means sometimes I question what I read for accuracy.  For example in last month’s Beacon, Ken Wells, New Hampshire State Representative, reported, “Towns are having to pay for measures they feel are necessary to reopen schools out of your property taxes.”  I then contacted the New Hampshire Department of Education regarding the $34 million in federal COVID-19 relief funds and how much had been distributed to the school districts. The reply: “The New Hampshire Department of Education has distributed all CARES Act- ESSER Fund grants to New Hampshire schools. The attached dashboard shows where schools are in the process of spending those funds.”  The spreadsheet showed that the allocation of funds to schools started in June. 

Therefore, in my opinion, Ken Wells’ statement was not entirely true. If you would like a copy of the spreadsheet please e-mail me at l.a.andrus21@nullgmail.com and I will send it to you.

In the same report by the Representative was a heading “Disgraceful Behavior” but he did not tell the whole story of what happened at the House Session on September 30 which included a number of Democrats that “knelt” during the National Anthem. Evidently that incident was approved of by our Representative, Ken Wells, and not important to report.

I firmly believe that we should all work every day of our lives to preserve the earth.  Being stewards of the earth should be part of our life for future generations. Green energy comes from natural sources such as wind, rain, and sunlight, just to name a few. 

What I have a hard time with is not being able to obtain answers to my questions.  Such as wind turbine blades or solar panels, and what are we going to do with the waste?  Currently the turbine blades are being buried in the earth.  This is harming the earth.  Solar panels have hazardous components, and what are we going to do with these hazardous materials at the end of the life span of the panels?  I am not against these forms of energy, but what are we going to do with the waste?  Many unanswered questions, therefore what have we gained?

When Obama was in office for eight years, he was not my choice as President, but he was President and I respected that. I am sick and tired and fed up with the news media and Democrats denouncing, condemning, and attacking President Trump.  No matter what he does or does not do, it is never right. He is our President!  

One of President Trump’s  great assets is that he is “optimistic.”  He believes in the “everyday” person in this country. The President has spent four years trying to clean the “Swamp.”  He has worked to make a better economy for the working people. President Trump has been nominated for three Nobel Peace Prizes. He is not what the Dems and news media are portraying. 

What really makes me sick is the millions upon millions of dollars of money our Congress has wasted on the Mueller case, impeaching the President, etc. with, in my opinion, no basis for their accusations. All of that time and money could have been put to better use for the good of the people of the country.  I am voting for President Trump on November 3.
