The Andover Community Coffeehouse Returns with Virtual Performances

March Features The Ferns Family Band of Wilmot

Press release

On Friday, March 19, The Andover Community Coffeehouse will return to monthly performances, with The Ferns Family Band of Wilmot as featured performers. The concert will begin at 7 PM, via Zoom.

The Ferns appeared as open mic performers at a past Coffeehouse and consist of Justin Ferren on guitar, his son Quinlan on the keyboard, and his daughter Mara as lead singer. The March concert will also include one or two “open Mic” performers, performing from their own homes and taped ahead of time.  Those wishing to request  a chance to play a song or two either this month or next should contact the Coffeehouse committee at TheAndoverHub@nullgmail.com for more information.

Those interested in attending the concert should contact TheAndoverHub@nullgmail.com to request the Zoom link, which will be sent out close to the March 19 event date. The concert is free of charge, although audience members will have an opportunity to contribute electronically to the featured performers.

Upcoming Coffeehouse Plans:

The Andover Community Coffeehouse is in its sixth year of monthly Friday evening concerts on the third Friday of the month, September through June.  After the pandemic ended live performances last March, the Coffeehouse planning committee offered Zoom concerts through June and then took a break for the summer, which extended through the fall. But committee members report hearing from folks around town that they miss the Coffeehouse so the decision  was made to start up again this month and continue through June.  With increased Zoom and YouTube expertise, the committee will experiment to get the best sound possible for the virtual performances and continue to experiment with the format as the spring progresses.

Plans are to then take the traditional summer off  and see what the fall brings in terms of whether it’s safe to resume live performances at the Highland Lake Grange in East Andover by September.  Stay tuned for more details.

The Andover Community Coffeehouse operates under the umbrella of The Andover Community Hub, a non-profit community-centric organization located in Andover’s old town hall at 157 Main Street in Andover.  For more information about The Hub, visit andoverhub.org or follow The Andover Community Hub’s Facebook page.
