Frank Haley Strides Toward 90 at Blind Awareness Walk

Top fundraiser for eight years running

By Lauretta Phillips, for the Beacon

As Frank Haley strides towards his 90th birthday in August of this year he also is making plans for his 9th walk for Blind Awareness on June 8, 2013. Frank and his wife are often accompanied on this walk by daughter in laws Norma Haley and Vicki Haley and his granddaughters Katie, Moriah, and Shannon Haley.

For the past eight years Frank has been the top individual donor for this event. His total for the past eight years is approximately $32,538. This money brings services to many of New Hampshire’s blind population throughout the year.

The Walk-A-Thon is a 3K walk throughout Concord’s historic district to the State House. Every year for weeks prior to the walk, Frank and his wife Ann spend a great deal of time driving around and seeking donations. Frank said “people are usually pretty generous and without their donations he would not be able to do this.”

Watch for Frank or contact him and help him celebrate these great milestones by donating to this wonderful event: 735-5319.
