Maurine C. (Thisell) Lamos passed away peacefully on June 9, 2021 at her home with family by her side to send her off to be with her Savior and other family members.
She was the daughter of Maurice and Marjory (Davis) Thisell. As a young girl she hauled water from the brook to do the dishes, walked three miles to school and was an A+ student. Early in life she taught herself to play the piano, accordion, and guitar and everyone loved to hear her beautiful singing voice.
Maurine started her family at a young age but showed courage as she raised seven children teaching them to be responsible, dependable, respectful, and loving. Her love of music continued as she played the piano and accordion (country music) with family and friends and especially enjoyed playing hymns with “How Great Thou Art” being her favorite. Taking day trips and traveling with her husband and small dog to Florida, and also with the whole family to Canada and Niagara Falls was great fun but she wouldn’t let them out of the car at Niagara Falls for fear that they would fall in!
Hardworking and frugal, Maurine didn’t need fancy and expensive items. She loved to care for her beautiful flower gardens, decorate her home, and feed the birds. Many will remember her for her fried dough, donuts, and especially her banana cream pie. Once the kids left home she enjoyed the company of her small dogs and also liked to sit next to the pool with her hubby and enjoy a cold beverage. Once the children were in school she became a nurses’ aide and worked at the Merrimack County Nursing Home in Boscawen, New Hampshire for 30 years, receiving a chair for her retirement.
She leaves behind five sisters, Shirley, Norma, Roselyn, Carol and Birdie; three brothers, Milton, Marty and Mynie; her four sons and their wives, Ricky and Patricia Adams North Carolina, Michael & Sherie Adams Franklin, Bruce & Wendy Adams Wilmot, Brent & Carolyn Lamos Andover; her three daughters and their husbands, Darlene and Tim Tilton Andover, Diane and Gene McKay Franklin and Deborah and David Poulin Andover/NC, and a stepdaughter and her husband, Linda and Ronnie Duhamel of Franklin. She adored and cherished visits from her 17+ grandchildren and 18+ great grandchildren. She also leaves many cousins, special nieces and nephews.
Once again joining the love of her life most likely with a honey to do list – sorry Dad you had 14 years off now it’s back to work!! We miss and love you both very much!
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, July 7 (Richard and Maurine’s wedding anniversary), at 9:30 AM at the New Hampshire Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen.
