AE/MS Bids Farewell to Valued Teammates and Staff

Working to fill vacant positions

By Dennis Dobe

Schools tend to go through cycles of renewal every handful of years.  This occurs for many different reasons, such as innovations in the field of education (new technologies and approaches to educating children), external challenges and opportunities (i.e. the COVID-19 pandemic and resulting federal grant funding), and/or a significant changeover of staff (teachers and administrators retiring or moving on to other school districts).  At AE/MS, we are experiencing all three of these school transformation factors at once!

In addition to the major staff departures that occurred at the end of the 2019-2020 school year, at the end of this school year (2020-2021) we bid fond farewells to Mrs. Parenteau, again (Administrative Assistant); Mrs. Turk (Assistant Principal); Mrs. Phelps (Special Education); Mr. Wiley (Technology); Mr. Silverstein (Physical Education); Mrs. Jurta (Paraprofessional), Ms. Clark (Classroom Teacher); Mrs. Lauster (Reading Interventionist); Ms. Capone (Paraprofessional); and Mrs. Smith (Occupational Therapy).

There will be no “replacing” these incredible teammates and staff members, and without them AE/MS will never be the same.  We wish our friends the very best in all future endeavors, and we will miss them badly in the time ahead.

AE/MS is actively working to secure the services of appropriately qualified, high-quality candidates to fill these vacant positions in our school.  As the summer draws to a close, we will share information about our new team at AE/MS, which will surely become a champion for our school and community in the time ahead.
