Third annual Wilmotpalooza a big hit

It was a palooza of a day, starting with fun activities for kids and finishing off with a fabulous concert. The Wilmot Community Association’s (WCA) third annual Wilmotpalooza was nonstop fun. Held on September 12, the weather was perfect and there was something for everyone.

The Wilmot Volunteer Fire Department was on hand to the delight of one and  all. The young and young at heart could touch-a-fire-truck, visit with the firefighters, and take a turn at the hose.

The Vermont Institute of Natural Science was on hand to share a cool reptile exhibit. The Friends of the Wilmot Public Library brought along a fun craft project as well as books and comfy chairs for anyone needing a break.

Cub Scout Pack 71 Kearsarge/Sunapee was available to answer questions and recruit new members. Tiger Mountain Shotokan Karate provided demonstrations

Playing at Wilmot’s Wilmotpalooza event in September was Nick’s Other Band, featuring (in the front row) Keith Barrett on lead guitar and vocals, Scott King, guitarist, and Phil Goodnow, rhythm guitar; and in the back row Nick Eaton, drums, and Chuck Will, piano (hidden by the sponsors sign), and not pictured, Reed Cullen, fiddle. At midday, Nick’s Other Band played a fantastic, get-up-and-dance concert. The Wilmot Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary fired up the grill for a cookout. Hot dogs and hamburgers were enjoyed by all.

Thank you to the Wilmot Selectmen and Town of Wilmot for their on-going support of this event. Chief Duncan Domey was on hand throughout the day to keep traffic flowing and everyone safe.

And finally, a special thanks to our fabulous sponsors – Frank Anzalone Associates, Barton Insurance, Better Homes and Gardens – Milestone Real Estate, Clayton A.
