November Art Event and Shopping Tour to Feature Area Artists

Artwork, like that shown here by David Carroll, will be featured and for sale, at the Upton Chandler House Museum in Warner on Saturday and Sunday, November 6 and 7, during the Kearsarge Open Studios Art Event and Shopping Tour.

Warner Historical Society and Kearsarge Area Chamber of Commerce are hosting an arts event and shopping tour at several venues in Warner and Contoocook during the first weekend in November.  Galleries in both villages will be open, and artists will be in residence at businesses to discuss or demonstrate how they create their art.  

Works by participating artists include jewelry, fine arts, wooden ware, and dream catchers.  Artwork and crafts and a large selection of quality, affordable gift items will be available for sale during the event.

The weekend begins at the Upton Chandler House Museum in Warner on Friday, November 5, from 5 to 7 PM.  It continues on Saturday and Sunday, November 6 and 7, beginning at 10 AM at these venues:

Upton Chandler House Museum: 10 West Main Street, Warner; Saturday and Sunday from 10 AM to 4 PM. Featured artists include David, Laurette, and Sean Carroll, Penny Courser, Denise Green, Michelle Marson, Sarah Mundahl, Mimi Wiggin, and Gary Young.

Mount Kearsarge Indian Museum: 18 Highlawn Road, Warner; Saturday from 10 AM to 4 PM. Featured artists include Lenny Novak, with exquisitely crafted and unique dream catchers; Sherry Gould, basket maker; and Vicki Blanchard, potter.

Café One East: 1 East Main Street, Warner; Saturday and Sunday from 10 AM to 3 PM. Featured fine artist is Meghan Blood.

MainStreet BookEnds Gallery: 16 East Main Street, Warner; Saturday, 10 AM to 4 PM. Local artists working in many media will be featured.

Copper Canoe Gallery: 916 Main Street, Contoocook; Saturday, 10 AM to 4 PM. The featured artist is gallery owner Matthew Smith, with beautiful prints made from copper-etchings of marine life, nature, and starry nights.

Contoocook Depot: 896 Main Street, Contoocook; Saturday and Sunday, 10 AM to 4 PM.
Featured fine artists are Tyler Anne Mack, Jessie Wilmot, and Krystin Watts.

Two Villages Art Society: 846 Main Street, Contoocook; Saturday and Sunday, 10 AM to 2 PM.
The exhibit “Truth be Told” is a collaborative show featuring 14 women artists, seven who identify as black and seven who identify as white, from across the United States.
