East Andover Fire Station to Sell Christmas Trees

Baked goodies and Santa Claus

By Rene Lefebvre

My favorite fire department activity is the annual tree sale. We will be selling Christmas trees at the East Andover Fire Station on Friday, December 3, from 6 to 8 PM and on Saturday, December 4, from 8 AM until sold out.

The Emergency Services Auxiliary will have baked goodies, donations gladly accepted. We don’t know the price of the trees yet. However, it is our goal that every family that wants a Christmas tree shall have one.

We will deliver your tree to your home on Saturday morning, free of charge. No need to scratch the roof of your car.

Your Fire Department and Auxiliary would like to extend an invitation to everyone to come to our sale, enjoy the wonderful smell of the trees and the great company of the people of Andover. For a little while there is a bit of magic and childhood excitement in the air. There is also the possibility that the Jolly Old Elf himself will join us. Purchasing a tree is not required; having a nice time is.

The tree you purchase from us or others is a freshly-cut live natural resource.  As such, it requires daily care and some caution. Provide the tree stand with water every day. Trees drink lots of water; otherwise, they dry out quickly.

Keep the tree away from any heat source. Try not to keep the tree in your home for more than a week beyond Christmas. There is a limit to how long a tree, even when properly watered, is green enough to be fire safe.

If you have any questions or concerns, please call us. We will be happy to inspect your tree installation for safety.

Stay safe this holiday season!
