Summer Music Associates Presents Exceptional Music

Five summer concerts, minutes from home

Press release

Bringing distinctive and diverse classical and jazz concerts to the Lake Sunapee-New London region is the mission of Summer Music Associates, and what a spectacular 49th season is planned for this year.  We are thrilled to be back!

The esteemed Boston Civic Symphony, now in its 97th year, will return for the ninth time to New London. Francisco Noya is the orchestra’s dynamic musical director.  Francisco is a native of Venezuela and is a prominent figure in the Boston and New England music scene, where he has earned a reputation as a versatile interpreter of symphonic and operatic literature.

The program will include Dvorak’s New World Symphony, Mozart’s Piano Concerto in D minor featuring Yutong Sun, a Cliburn International Piano Competition participant, and Jonathan Bailey Holland’s New Hampshire premiere of Colors.

Frisson Ensemble features the best and brightest of classical music’s rising stars. Frisson showcases a myriad of rarely-performed masterworks. The program in New London will range from Bach to Ravel’s Bolero.

The Beacon Brass Quintet returns with a wide spectrum of music, ranging from early works by William Brade to the luscious melodies of Duke Ellington.  The quintet is noted for its expertise across a wide spectrum of music, presenting nine world premiere performances.

The Pandolfi-Deutsch Duo is a stunning combination of flying keys and dazzling strings! This powerhouse duo takes the crowd on a whirlwind journey through the hits of the centuries, expressing a variety of musical styles from classical to jazz to Billy Joel. Spiced with humor and laughs and a bit of history, audiences everywhere rave about these unique artists and their diverse and entertaining programming.

Fred Moyer Jazz Trio closes the season with an evening of classical piano and classic jazz solos.  The first half of the program features renowned pianist Fred Moyer performing classical piano solos.  Fred is joined in the second half by Lowell Ringel on bass and Bob Savine on drums to bring to life the improvisations of legendary jazz pianists and their trios through note-for-note transcriptions of their greatest performances.
