Candidate Ken Wells Cares Deeply About Our Community

By Mario Ratzki

My good friend and neighbor, Ken Wells, is running to be re-elected as our state representative for Merrimack District 5, which includes Hill, Danbury, Andover, Salisbury, and Webster.

Ken has been involved in our town government on the planning board, attended School Board and Select Board meetings.

A board member of the Andover Community Hub, Ken designed an ADA compliant bathroom and helped build the Hub wheelchair ramp, as well as renovating the Hub interior.  Through the Kearsarge Neighborhood Program, with another volunteer, he built two wheelchair ramps in Danbury.

Ken was also instrumental in creating New Hampshire Forward (he is the current president), a non-profit organization dedicated to an industry sponsored apprenticeship program for advanced manufacturing for high school students in Franklin; a program supported by Mayor Jo Brown, the Franklin city council, Labor Commissioner Ken Merryfield, and Franklin business leaders. Franklin began offering college credit courses to its students in 2021 and is about to expand in the Lakes Region with culinary and hospitality programs. This offers our local high school students an entry to well-paid jobs while staying in New Hampshire.

It is abundantly clear that Ken cares deeply about our community, and can work with everybody regardless of politics to make good things happen.

Ken is running with Lorna Carlisle and David Nesbitt to represent our towns in the State House. All three uphold a woman’s right to choose and are staunch supporters of our public schools and teachers. My wife and I are thrilled to endorse this team of outstanding candidates who will move New Hampshire forward.

Please join us in voting for all three on November 8.

Thank you,

Mario Ratzki
