Andover’s middle school boys’ basketball team finished the season with a 4-8 record as the young, inexperienced team gradually gained confidence, skill, and cohesiveness as the season progressed. Led by the lone returner from the 2021-2022 season, Camden Allenby, the Eagles earned wins over Mount Royal Academy, Winnisquam Middle School, and Kearsarge Middle School, while losing close games to Sunapee, Kearsarge, Franklin, and Indian River at different points throughout the season.

Fellow eighth graders Beckett Simard, Jacob Hersey, and Korbyn Jenne all played for the first time and showed tremendous improvement over the course of the season. A strong seventh grade class of Billyjack Braley, Brayden Lunn, Brody Hawks, Seth Spaulding, and Jaxson Daigneault made a seamless transition from the 5/6 grade team to the much faster, more intense pace of middle school basketball.

Sixth graders Micah Allenby and Noah Hawkins played up with the middle school team this year, offering a steady presence and tremendous work ethic that not only helped the team this season, but will help the core group of returners compete at a high level next year.

While the wins were great, it was the hard work and love of the game developed in this group of boys that was the most rewarding part of the season for all involved. A big thank you to Lindsey and Sadie Allenby for keeping the scorebook at all of the team’s games, to girls coach Lauren Koron for helping keep the clock at home games, and to all of the parents who tirelessly supported this team with snacks, cheering, and remarkable practice and game attendance all season long.
