Spring Presents Opportunities for Children to Learn Outside

April celebrated Earth Day and kindness

By Stephanie D'Amour

Happy Spring from EAVP! It seemed like a long winter, so we were ready to spend more time outside! This past month we celebrated Easter, Earth Day, and all things spring! We dedicated a whole week to our planet by making paper mache earth’s, cleaning up the rail trail and taking a field trip to Chaffee Park to help the town clean up the beach. This month has also been dedicated to kindness. We recently read the book, Have you Filled a Bucket Today? By Carol McCloud. The book is all about everyone carrying around an invisible bucket, and with kindness you fill other people’s bucket while also filling your own! To make this learning visible in the classroom, each child has their own bucket that we are working on filling with glass beads. Once our buckets are full, we are going to celebrate with a pajama pizza party! The preschoolers voted to see what our celebration would be!

EAVP is still looking for a full-time teacher! Join our fun and passionate team to help shape young children of our future! Send inquiries to eavp@nulltds.net.

Registration spots are available for the ’23/’24 school year.
