Two Talented Bands Perform in Andover

Thursday night, June 8, 6 PM, at AE/MS

Press release
Diamond Special, a band from the Upper Valley area of New Hampshire and Vermont, is one of the bands featured in the free concert on June 8.  They cover music from a large cross section of styles that reflect the band’s heritage (rock, country, blues, and pop).

The annual fundraiser for the Fourth of July will be held Thursday, June 8, at 6 PM, at the amphitheater to the left of the Andover Elementary Middle School parking lot. This is a rain-or- shine event. If weather is questionable, the bands will perform in the school gym.

The Fourth of July committee has lined up some amazingly talented performers for the evening. There will be two bands! Sneaky Jack and Diamond Special will both perform. The best part is that there are talented Andover folks represented in both bands.

Sneaky Jack is an alternative rock band based out of Durham, New Hampshire. The band consists of Chaz Rodgers (vocals), Kai Pilla (drums), Jerry Rogan (lead guitar), Matt Bent (rhythm guitar), and Jack Newton (bass guitar). You can find their music on Spotify, Apple Music, and various other music platforms.

Diamond Special was formed in 2016 by new and veteran performers from the Upper Valley area. The name of the band is borrowed from a late 1800s railroad line, which ran from Chicago to St. Louis, the Diamond Special. The band covers music from a large cross section of styles that reflect the band’s heritage. Familiar rock, country, blues, and pop music selections will make a fun atmosphere for all who attend.

Diamond Special’s lead vocals, provided by Anjo Roy, drive the band forward, with support from Elmer Black on drums; bass guitar from Dave Keeney; and guitar by Doug Phelps. This hardworking band makes friends wherever they go. So bring lawn chairs, blankets, refreshments, and dancing shoes! You won’t be disappointed.

This is a fundraiser for Andover’s Fourth of July. There is no charge but donations are encouraged.
