Press release

The Wilmot Community Association has several workshops, activities, and programs lined up for November and early December at the Red Barn.

 Holiday Sugar Cookies

Learn how to decorate holiday cookies with Laura Powers of Andover-based Extraordinary Taste starting at 6 PM Tuesday, Nov. 19 at the Wilmot Community Association (WCA) Red Barn on 64 Village Road in Wilmot.

Pre-registration is open for anyone interested in learning the tricks, tips and techniques for decorating fun and festive sugar cookies to serve or give as gifts. This three-hour class is $25 per person and includes all materials.

Santa’s Workshop

WCA will open its own version of Santa’s workshop from 10 AM to 3 PM on Saturday, November 23 at the Red Barn.

Folks of all ages will have an opportunity to create holiday gifts of painted glass. Stop in any time during the workshop to “shop” the glass store for an assortment of holiday ornaments and other glass items such as a vase, bowl or wine goblets. WCA will provide the supplies to create your work of art. Volunteers will be on hand to get you started. Cost includes the purchase of the item and the art supplies. Prices will vary from $1 to $5.

Thursday’s Child

WCA and the Wilmot Learning Place (WLP) will benefit from a Thursday’s Child fund-raising event starting at 5:30 PM on Thursday, December 5 at the Coach House Restaurant in the New London Inn, 353 Main Street, New London.

A portion of the net proceeds from meals purchased that evening will benefit the two not-for-profit organizations. Reservations should be made directly with The Coach House Restaurant at 526-2791.

Holiday Craft Fair

WCA will hold its annual Holiday Craft Fair from 9 AM to 3 PM on Saturday, December 7 at the New London Outing Club, Cougar Court, New London.

Nearly 1,000 people attended this popular event in 2012! Sixty quality vendors will be featured, including the Wilmot Ladies Aid Society and their fabulous Cookie Walk. More information about booth spaces is available from Kathy Neuberger at 477-5250 or katnhow@nullcomcast.net.

Wilmot Express

Activities will include gingerbread house making for children from 4 to 5:30 PM at the WCA Red Barn; dinner and tree lighting from 5 to 7 PM at the firehouse, just off Route 11; and story time with Santa Claus at 7:15 PM at the library, North Wilmot Road, just off Route 4A in Wilmot Center.
