There have been many exciting things happening at East Andover Village Preschool in the past month. We have had two fabulous and very successful fundraisers. It has been great seeing all of our friends, family, and community members out and supporting our program. Thank you to John Siemanowich and Jake’s Market in helping with our Harvest Sale. Thank you to Andover Elementary/Middle School, Mike Wiley, and our very generous community donors for all of your assistance in our Spaghetti Dinner and Raffle.

Thank you to all of our community donors who contributed to our raffle and dinner on November 16!

While we have been out and about in the community, our school environment has been getting some renovations. We recently had our front steps replaced, along with our floors refinished, and in the next few weeks, we will be making some large changes to our outdoor play space. Thank you to the community member for your donation to this special area of our environment.

Recently in our classroom, there has been a growing interest in writing letters and stories. Often the children are bringing pictures and written work to us that they are proud to show. Each piece represents the stages of early writing development.

During our math exploration, there has been enjoyment in all of the various dice games. With rolling the dice, we have practiced counting out manipulatives, one-to-one correspondence as we cover up spaces, and graphing as we mark the squares rolled. Observations are forever in our classroom as we continue to extend the height of our towers, use a variety of building materials, and mix new-to-us ingredients together.

The holiday season at EAVP brings us many exciting activities to look forward to. We have invited our families into our classroom for Family Story Month and sharing their favorite family stories with us, along with hosting our third annual Grandparent Gingerbread House-making event. Our Winter Wonderland Show gives us the opportunity to perform a play and sing some winter songs for our family, friends, and community. The children are excited, as practice has already begun.
