As part of his Senior Project at MVHS, Logan Donovan of Andover wrote a grant proposal to the United Way’s Youth Venture Program, which assists young people, ages 12 through 20, to complete a sustainable project in their community. His proposal was accepted and the United Way will be sending the money soon.

Logan and his team, including Kyle Smart of Andover, will use the funds to purchase materials to build a Smokey the Bear sign for the Town of Webster by the end of May.

Fire safety is especially important to Logan, as he was part of the Fire Explorer program in Salisbury and now serves as a volunteer for the Andover Fire Department. He hopes to follow in his father’s footsteps and train to become a full-time firefighter after high school.
