It’s Spring and time to get outdoors for the first Grange Youth Day at the Blazing Star Grange Winter Market! Blazing Star will be sponsoring some Danbury organizations that offer programs and activities for the youth of its community.
Among the organizations and churches which will gather to entertain and inform youngsters with games, face painting, freebies, and fun activities are the Wild Meadow Farm 4-H, which will bring animal projects and other examples of their activities. Danbury Christian Church’s SALT youth group will be happy to change you into whoever you want to be with face painting, or you can join in with the old-time games.
But first, go to the Blazing Star Bistro for a great breakfast sandwich, orange juice, hot chocolate, or coffee. Later, homemade soups and casserole will be available for lunch, or perhaps a piece of cake and coffee while you visit with friends in the Bistro.
Downstairs also will be an abundance of produce, bakery items, meats, and dairy-fresh milk. Be sure to talk to Suzanne Leblanc at Autumn Harvest about her beautiful quilting.
Upstairs vendors’ wares include Haunting Whisper Vineyard’s wines, delicious seasonal chocolates, soaps and beauty products, jewelry, wonderful gift items from The Purple Ant, totes, toys, scarves, household soft-wears, and one-of-a-kind women’s fashions from recycled materials.
Join family and friends to celebrate our youth and the people who work to make life challenging, interesting, and fun for them! Dress warmly (maybe!) for the outside activities.
The Winter Market is open from 9 AM to 1 PM on the first Saturday of the month from November to May in the Blazing Star Grange Hall, 15 North Road, Danbury. For information, call Phyllis at 744-2332.
