Several local artists, including two from Andover, will participate in the Wilmot Community Association’s (WCA) second annual Imagination into Art, an artists’ exhibit and sale, on Friday and Saturday, June 27 and 28, at the WCA’s Red Barn, 64 Village Road, next to the US Post Office in Wilmot Flat.

The event will open with a reception and show from 4:30 to 7 PM on Friday, June 27 at the WCA’s Red Barn. Imagination into Art will continue from 9 AM to noon on Saturday, June 28, at the WCA’s Red Barn and at the Wilmot Farmers Market on the Wilmot Village Green on Village Road in Wilmot Flat.

Artists who will show their work – and some will also demonstrate their techniques – include Jay Koron and Holly Noyes of Andover; Dick Chase, Kristin Ash Chertikhin, Vlad Chertikhin, Caroline Fairless, Sue Finney, Ann Feeley Kieffer, David Lorden, Terry Moore, Nancy Schlosser, and Lynn Solomon, all from Wilmot; Jane Gold, New London; Myrl Phelps, Danbury; Nancee Leach, Springfield; and Steve Russell and Sue Russell, Newbury.

Several participating artists have donated an example of their work to be sold during a silent auction on Friday evening.

“We are pleased to host a show that features so many of our very talented local artists,” said Judy Hauck, WCA board member and organizer of Imagination into Art. “The works include beautiful handmade quilts, pottery, sculpture, and paintings in several media.”

Wine and hors d’oeuvres will be served at the Friday evening reception. A $15 donation per person is requested.

The WCA, which was established in 1963, owns and operates the Red Barn, a facility with a function room, commercial kitchen, and meeting rooms on Village Road in Wilmot. A private preschool, the Wilmot Learning Place, is a tenant on the lower level of the Red Barn. The WCA also owns and operates the Timothy Patten Park, where local community members enjoy summer recreational activities.

Activities sponsored by the WCA include the Black Fly Blitz, Imagination into Art, the Pie Breakfast, Harvest Home Luncheon, Scarecrow Decorating Contest, Halloween trick or treating for children, the annual holiday craft fair, and the Wilmot Express.

The office is open from 9 AM to noon, Monday through Thursday, and by appointment.
