ANDOVER ELEMENTARY MIDDLE SCHOOL
May 28, 2014
Dear AEMS Family,
It is time to look around the house and under beds for school library books and textbooks. Mrs. Lane is going to start the inventory process in the library next week and it is important to get books back on the shelves. She will contact you if your child has lost a book and will let you know the replacement cost.
I was very proud of our small, but mighty, advanced band on Monday. Betsy, Aura, Myles, Collin, and Jack all contributed to the Memorial Day Service in Wilmot on Monday evening. Ms. Edmunds conducted the talented group and even played Taps for the crowd at the monument.
Please take a minute to get caught up with your child’s lunch balance. The June menu will be coming home tomorrow which will help you plan ahead. Be sure and subtract field trips if your child is bringing their own lunch. And of course, plan on a BBQ for the last day of school at regular school lunch cost.
If your seventh or eighth grade student is interested in the possibility of playing football for Merrimack valley Middle School in the fall (or late summer) please send me a letter stating so and I will collect and forward to MVMS. Many of our boys have played on the Blue Storm football team in the past however that only goes through the sixth grade. As with any sport at the middle school level, academic and behavioral standards must be met at all times. Please send letter to me on or before Monday, June 2nd. An accurate count of potential players is important.
The eighth grade class is on the road to NYC next Tuesday. I really am looking forward to the trip and spending more time with this class. They have been great role models for the younger students and have contributed to our school community in many ways throughout the years. They will soon head to Merrimack Valley High School, Proctor Academy, and Bishop Brady High School.
Mr. Stewart, K-8 music teacher, and band director, has resigned for personal reasons and will not be finishing the school year.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to call or stop in.
Sincerely,
Jane Slayton
