Nancy Tripp performs at The Fells on August 10.Come to the Veranda of The Fells in Newbury and enjoy the music of one of America’s finest songwriters.

Johnny Mercer is considered a “pure American” lyricist. Writing as part of the “golden guild,’ which included Cole Porter, Irving Berlin, and George Gershwin, he brought a Southern style to his lyrics and to his singing that evokes the landscapes and Black influences of his youth.

Nancy Tripp brings Mercer’s music to The Fells with stories of his life and songs. Jeepers Creepers, Fools Rush In, That Old Black Magic, and Satin Doll are just a few of the offerings.

Nancy will perform with her trio of Andy Bourke on bass, Mike Parker on saxophone, and David Newsam on guitar. Enjoy delicious hors d’oeuvres and a wine bar from 4:30 to 5:30 PM.
