During his July concert at the Highland Lake Grange Hall, musician and musicologist Jeff Warner demonstrated a precursor to the modern banjo. Sponsored by the Andover Historical Society and the New Hampshire Humanities Council, the event drew a standing-room audience for Jeff’s performance, entitled Banjos, Bones and Ballads. One of the nation’s foremost performer/interpreters of traditional music, he sings and plays concertina, guitar, and several “pocket” instruments, including bones and spoons, as well as the banjo.
