Candidate for NH House, District 1: Anne Copp

I have a strong commitment to individual liberty, personal responsibility, limited government, free enterprise, and common sense for New Hampshire that will help bring these ideals about. I will help build a Legislature that will fight for lower taxes, less spending, and limited government that will allow the people of New Hampshire to build their own prosperous future.

As a seasoned candidate for State Representative, I have been actively supporting the ideals I share with the people of my district. I make no promises to be a politician, I do promise to become a proud Statesman who exhibits the “Energy and Integrity” that the office deserves. My goal when elected is to communicate with the townspeople of Andover, Danbury, and Salisbury through town meetings once a month and to bring those concerns straight to our citizen legislature.

Budget: Bring the budget back to 2011-2013 levels. The 2010 legislature closed the $800 million structural deficit (in that budget) without raising taxes. We need to run our State House like we run our house; we cannot and should not live beyond our means.

Education: Restore local control; parents do know best. Teachers need to be able to teach our kids without unreasonable government mandates put on them. We need to end our participation in “Common Core” curriculum.

Taxes and Fees: We need to attract business to New Hampshire. We cannot do that currently. Our state has one of the highest business taxes in the nation; runaway fees are hurting our citizens and their ability to budget for their families. We need our economy to become robust so we may lower our unemployment rate.
