Candidate for NH House, District 25: David Karrick

Town News - News - Candidate - NH House 25 - KarrickSome of the things we accomplished in Concord over the last two years:

  • Medicaid Expansion, helping about 50,000 low income citizens obtain Health Care Coverage
  • Restoring funding to the New Hampshire community college and university systems and freezing tuition for New Hampshire families
  • The Transportation Funding Bill, increasing bridge aid and highway funding to towns, and completing I-93 expansion with the modest 4.2-cent increase in the road toll/gas tax, the first since 1991
  • Paycheck equity for men and women
  • Making domestic violence a crime, including protection for family pets
  • Home heating fuel pre-buy contract consumer protection
  • Doubling the Research and Development tax credit to $2 million dollars annually
  • Increasing distribution of Rooms and Meals Tax funds to local communities
  • Distributing flood control payments to towns that lost taxable land from flood control, originally Mario Ratzki’s bill
  • Fully funding LCHIP
  • Making it a crime to financially exploit our elderly citizens

I worked with Senator Jeff Woodburn as a sponsor of several Senate bills improving the regulation and definition of tractors and utility vehicles, setting speed limits for OHRVs and snowmobiles, and allowing officers of the Fish and Game Department to enforce motor vehicle laws. I was also a sponsor of a bill allowing Selectmen to abate current and prior year property taxes where necessary.

I hope to continue my service on the House Ways and Means Committee and have a meaningful and comprehensive discussion about taxes and fees producing necessary revenues that would not penalize our working families.
