Candidate for Executive Council: Joseph D. Kenney

Town News - News - Candidate - Executive Council - KenneyIt has been my honor to serve the 108 towns and four cities in District 1. I have worked hard and committed myself full-time. I have attended all Governor and Council meetings and participated in three judicial hearings to appoint three judges.

I believe my most important contribution has been helping dozens and dozens of people with their constituent problems. I have brought agency commissioners on the road for public hearings, to bring Concord to the people of District 1. I have sought to place the right people on State boards and commissions to represent District 1 well.

I want to continue excellent constituent service and advocate for more transportation and economic development to create more jobs, tourism, and manufacturing. I want to reduce the number of sole-source contracts the State awards and simplify the RFP process so more companies want to bid. Too many contracts are going out of state, and hundreds of millions of dollars are being lost across our borders.

I will continue to support fuel assistance programs and congregate meals for our citizens and will fight to keep them funded for the upcoming winter. I am against Industrial Wind Farms and do not support Northern Pass.

I am married with two children. I am a Marine officer who served in the Persian Gulf War, Iraq, and Afghanistan. I am a former 14-year legislator, serving in the House and Senate.

If it’s a problem for you, it’s a problem for me. Let’s solve it together.
