Priscilla W. Lloyd, 89, passed away peacefully in Manchester surrounded by her loving family on October 7, 2014. She was born in Manchester on April 5, 1925, the daughter of Hollie and Marion (Pillsbury) Whittemore Sr. She was a lifelong member of First Congregational Church, Manchester.
Pris graduated from Manchester Central High School, class of 1943. She was joined in marriage with Harold V. Lloyd on June 28, 1946, in Berkeley, California and resided in Japan for two years while Harold served in the US Navy. They returned to New Hampshire in 1953, settling in Londonderry in 1958.
Pris was involved in the American Legion Auxiliary, DAR, Andover Historical Society, Andover Service Club, Church Women United, Salvation Army Auxiliary, Rainbow Girls, Eastern Star, and the Cooperative Extension Homemakers, both locally in Londonderry and New London, and on the county and state levels.
Pris and Harold were very active members of churches in Manchester, East Andover, and Seminole, Florida, where they enjoyed singing in the choirs. Pris enjoyed reading, crafts, attending the theater, music, and collecting cookbooks, teacups, and music boxes.
She is survived by four children: Harold “Skip” Lloyd Jr. and wife Peg, Sandy J. Eberle and husband Robert, Joy M. Stone and husband J. Christopher, and Judy A. Lloyd; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Pris was preceded by her loving husband of 60 years, Harold, in 2006, and two brothers, William S. Whittemore Sr. and Hollie L. Whittemore Jr.
Calling hours were held at Goodwin Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Manchester on October 11, with a celebration of Priscilla’s life. Burial in Proctor Cemetery, Andover, will be private.
