For the Andover Crosby-Gilbert American Legion Post 101, it has been many years since the last official meeting of the Post. When the membership dwindled down to eight this past few years, those members decided to call a meeting and discuss making an effort to revitalize the Post.

After the efforts of the members, with Bill Leber leading the charge, Andover Post 101 is now at the 100% membership level and fifth in the State for attaining that level. Although there are some vacancies in the officer ranks, more local veterans are joining to carry on the mission and objectives of the American Legion.

The American Legion and its’ programs are dedicated to the principles of assisting veterans, youth, and community locally, throughout the state, and nationwide.

This meeting was attended by dignitaries such as Department of New Hampshire Commander Bob Dionne, Alternate National Executive Committeeman Bill Roy, Department Vice Commander Tom Wiley, District 6 and Claremont Post Commander Sam Zannini, Newport Post Commander Leo Paquin, and New London Post 40 Adjutant and Past Department Commander Frank Anderson.

It will take some effort and time, but the present members are willing to show their support to the local communities, youth programs, and veterans. The Post continues to build, as potential members were present at the meeting also.

District 6 Commander Sam Zannini and Department Commander Bob Dionne presented the Department of New Hampshire 100% Membership Award to Andover Post 101 Commander Skip Powers. Post 101 was the fifth in the state to achieve this level through its latest membership drive.
