A Poem for Spring by Margo Coolidge

Spring Song

I heard Spring yesterday – a chickadee’s Spring song.

It turned the day from grey to blue.

It’s windy and cold. The forecast says snow,

But I know the chickadee’s never wrong.

Let the snow fall – It will soon melt away.

Let the wind howl – it can’t stop what will be.

I heard Spring yesterday. I dreamed of the garden:

The tulips, red by a greening lawn.

This winter is so old! The forecast says snow,

But I know the chickadee’s never wrong.
