Proctor Celebrates Earth Day on April 29 and 30

Community welcome at two presentations

By Scott Allenby, Proctor Academy

Each year, the Proctor community celebrates Earth Day by taking a break from normal classes and hosting workshops with guest speakers. This year, Proctor welcomes Tyler Fish to speak to the community on Wednesday, April 29, at 7 PM about his unassisted trek on skis to the North Pole. On Thursday, a full day of faculty-led workshops sandwich a presentation by David Rothenberg at 11:15 AM on his work as an inter-species jazz musician. (Yes, inter-species jazz musician is a thing!)

The goal for the day is to foster deeper awareness of environmental issues while celebrating all that we have accomplished in recent years. Students will hopefully recognize and appreciate the scope of environmental issues and demonstrate awareness and understanding of positive, creative, and innovative efforts made to solve global issues we all face.

Both presentations are open to community members who are interested.
