Summer Season Gets Underway at Mount Sunapee

The Adventure Park at Mount Sunapee opens May 23, kicking off the summer/fall season which will attract more than 60,000 people to the resort and region. The Adventure Park along with the 82nd Annual League of New Hampshire Craftsmen’s Fair, plus other special events have made Mount Sunapee one of the most popular summer/fall destinations in the Dartmouth/Lake Sunapee Region of New Hampshire.The Adventure Park, now in its fourth season, features a 2 ½ hour Canopy Zip-Line Tour, Aerial Challenge Course, Big Airbag Jump and Climbing Wall Tower, 18 holes of Miniature Golf, an 18-hole Championship Disc Golf Course, and chairlift rides. New this summer is Downhill Mountain Biking complete with bike rentals and instruction. The popular Play All Day package includes the Aerial Challenge Course, Airbag Jump and Climbing Wall, Mini-Golf, Disc Golf, chairlift rides plus admission to the Lake Sunapee State Beach making for a full day of family fun.Opening Day at the Adventure Park is Saturday, May 23 and to celebrate the first 100 people who purchase a Play All Day package will save $10 or 20%. There will be live music, a barbecue, a free round of miniature golf,  and a chairlift ride.

The 82nd Annual League of New Hampshire Craftsmen’s Fair is August 1-9. Visitors can shop for one-of-a-kind craft, learn how it’s made or create their own. There are 200 craft booths, daily demonstrations and workshops, tours, seminars, roving performances and food. The Sunapee Express summit lift operates daily during Fair week.

Special events this summer and fall include the 4th Annual Mountain Mucker Obstacle Race, May 30, The Sunapee Lions Club “Sunapee Wheels” Antique and Collectible Motor Vehicles Show, June 28, the 7th Annual Fall Foliage Pig Roast & Barbecue, October 10-11, and the 20th Annual Chocolatefest Challenge, October 18, sponsored by the Lake Sunapee Region Chamber of Commerce. There are also Summer Dinners including a Lobster and Clambake June 13, and Scotch, Steak and Cigars Night September 11.

During the summer and fall, Mount Sunapee hosts more than a dozen wedding receptions in the beautiful Sunapee Lodge. Some couples opt to hold their ceremony at Mount Sunapee’s 2,743 foot summit offering spectacular views of Lake Sunapee and the White and Green mountains. Guests access the summit via the Sunapee Express summit chairlift.
