Warner’s Tory Hill Authors Series continues its sixth season with Warner historian and author Larry Sullivan reading from his latest work, Mount Kearsarge: History, Stories, Legends and Folktales on Saturday, July 11, at the Warner Town Hall. After you read this book, you will never see Mount Kearsarge in the same old way.

You will learn about Horace Greeley’s last climb, you will search for chiseled names on the mountain, and you will be astonished at the destruction of the great tornado of 1821. You will visit the site of the old Winslow Hotel and the Summit House, and you will wonder about the young pilot who landed his plane on the summit.

This is the first comprehensive history ever written about this majestic mountain located in central New Hampshire.

The evening is the first of four presented by the Warner Historical Society. The next performance will be on Saturday, July 25, featuring Vermont author Ben Hewitt.

The readings begin at 7 PM and are held in the Warner Town Hall. A dessert social and book signing are accompanied by the sounds of live jazz following the readings. Single tickets are $10, or a packet of four for $32 may be purchased at the door or online at ToryHillAuthorsSeries.com.
