SRK Greenway Plans Four Hikes in August

Sunapee-Ragged-Kearsarge Greenway Coalition (SRKGC) summer hikes are free to the public. Please call the volunteer hike leader to learn starting location and time. Be prepared for summer conditions. Remember to bring water, bug and sun protection, and a snack.

Saturday, August 8: Run a mountain. Would you believe, Run? A Mountain? Could be either Kearsarge or Sunapee. Difficult. Nathan Richer, 763-2127 or NRicher@nullRuger.com.

Wednesday, August 12: Rollins State Park, Lincoln Trail, Mount Kearsarge. Easy brushing and drain clearing. Loppers and shovels. Downhill from Rollins State Park’s upper parking area. Assist Student Conservation Association (SCA) crew from Manchester High School three to five hours. Moderate. Gerry Gold, 526-2857.

Saturday, August 15: Visit the Bulkhead and Balanced Rock on the Proctor side of Ragged Mountain in Andover. Moderate. Lee Carvalho, 735-5719 or LeeCarvalho6@nullgmail.com.

Tuesday, August 18: Rollins State Park, Lincoln Trail, Mount Kearsarge. A second chance for an easy walk and work with loppers on Lincoln from Rollins State Park’s upper parking area. Assist SCA student crew for three to five hours. Moderate. Gerry Gold, 526-2857.
