Fundraising needed to repair Grange Hall

By Sandy Miller, Andover Congregational Church

Under the direction of John Bourdon, the church’s Highland Lake Grange Hall will be undergoing some temporary repairs recommended by the structural engineer to make it usable throughout the winter months. All materials on the second floor have been removed.

To make the entire building usable will involve some serious fundraising, which we will be undertaking in the “not too distant” future. We certainly welcome donations in this regard. If you wish to help us out, checks should be made out to the Andover Congregational Church, putting “Grange Hall Restoration” in the memo section of your check. Mail address is Andover Congregational Church, PO Box 211, East Andover NH 03231. All donations are tax deductible.

Don’t forget the Church’s annual Labor Day weekend Flea Mart and Bake Sale on Saturday, September 5, on the Andover Village Green from 9 AM to 2 PM. In addition to baked goods, the Church will also have food and beverages available to purchase. Contact Bonnie Wesley at 735-5486 if you are interested in reserving a spot to sell your wares. Usually, over 20 spaces are rented at a cost of $20 each.

New this year is a special “Christmas in September” sale (and a bake sale as well) to be held at the Highland Lake Grange Hall in East Andover on Saturday, September 19. You won’t want to miss this – there will be bargains galore!

Also, the monthly yard sale, bake sale, and craft sale will be held on Saturday, September 26, at the Highland Lake Grange Hall from 8:30 AM to 2 PM. Mark your calendar – there’s something for everyone!

The Church will be holding a “School of Kingdom Ministry” program beginning this fall. It will be held on Tuesday evenings from 6 to 9 PM. This course is designed with every church member (who longs to see the Holy Spirit move) in mind. Teaching via the Internet will be facilitated by Pastor Dick Aucion and Scott Shepard from the Lakes Region Vineyard Church.

We look forward to Pastor John Wagner returning from his Sabbatical in the middle of September and are grateful for the leadership the Diaconate has provided in his absence.

We welcome your attendance at our church services or Sunday School program on Sundays at 9:30 AM. Call the Church office at 735-5160 if you have any questions.
