Back by popular demand! We are proud to announce that the mentor program here at AE/MS was a great success last year and is back in full swing.
We have 32 seventh and eighth grade applicants who are eager to work with our elementary students and become “big buddies” this year. These “big buddies” positively impact the lives of the youth in our school community through caring relationships that model positive social behavior and personal responsibility.
What a great way for our students to feel a deeper connection and sense of responsibility in our school family! It is truly beautiful to see the smiling faces and high-fives as they pass each other in the hallway and spend a few minutes catching up on their day.
Students from grades seven and eight are paired with students from the early elementary levels to read, do activities, have a snack, or just talk about their day. Once a month all mentors and buddies gather in the library to celebrate with some non-competitive games and activities where they get the opportunity to feel part of a bigger group within the school building.
