Geocaching Workshop Turns Up Treasures along the Rail Trail

Glenn Haley led an October 10 geocaching workshop along the Northern Rail Trail in East Andover, during which he demonstrated use of a Global Positioning System (GPS) device to locate a tiny capsule hidden in the woods beside the trail. In this photo, Andover's Adalyn Tremblay discovers the contents of the tiny capsule she and her sister Bria (right) have found. They are assisted by Kyle Tremblay, their mother. GPS devices accurately calculate geographical locations by receiving information from satellites orbiting 12,500 miles above the earth. The free workshop was sponsored by the Andover Institute.
