AE/MS Celebrates International Walk-to-School Day

Rail trail runs right by the school

On October 7, students and staff at AE/MS participated in International Walk to School Day, a global event in which communities in over 40 countries walk and bike to school on the same day to support the movement for year-round safe routes to school. Andover students are bused to different starting points at the beginning of the day and walk to school together. For example, the first graders begin on Short Street and walk along the Rail Trail to school. Nearing the end of their nearly mile-long walk are (front) Alyssa Wheeler, Anya Chadbourne, Lily Lucha, Talia Hardie; (second row) Parker Sweeney, Linden Morgan, Greg Howard, Isaac Norris, Colin Murphy, Jacob Hersey; (third row) Victoria Koron, Paige Orcutt, Addison Bickford, Adalyn Boucher; and (back) Jayden Dashnaw, Killian Considine, Wyatt Barton, Brennan Dunklee, Sam Gilman, Tony Mori, JT Pourby, Camden Allenby.
