Our fall schedule is pretty much underway. We welcomed back Pastor John at our September 20 service from his Sabbatical. Many thanks to the Deacon’s Board for their leadership while he was away. I would also like to acknowledge our Praise Band under the direction of Don Towle. We are very fortunate to have such great musical talent as part of our Church. They practice every Thursday night and play faithfully every Sunday. Oftentimes, Sue Emerson will play the organ for us on Sundays, particularly on communion Sunday, as well as during the Easter and Advent seasons. We are indeed blessed with all of their gifts.
Children’s Sunday School has started under the direction of Bonnie Wesley. The time is 9:30 AM, the same time as Church service. We also have adult Sunday School under the direction of Robin Vissser. This takes place at the Grange Hall every Sunday from 8:30 to 9:15 AM. We are studying the Gospel of Luke and the Book of Acts. Bible study will be at 9:30 AM on Wednesdays at the home of Irene Jewett. Please call the church office at 735-5160 for more information on any of these services.
The Grange Hall temporary repair project has been completed with Frost Building Construction doing the work. Without these repairs, we would have had to shut down the building over the winter months. Again, thanks to John and Joyce Bourdon for their leadership on this project. Permanent repairs will eventually have to be done to make the whole building usable. If you would like to help out with a financial contribution, we would welcome your tax deductible gift. Perhaps, you might wish to make a donation in honor/memory of a loved one. If so, please indicate in a short note whose name you wish to acknowledge. Checks should be made out to the Andover Congregational Church, putting “Grange Hall Restoration” in the memo section of your check. Mail address is ACC, PO Box 211, East Andover, New Hampshire 03231.
Thanksgiving Eve service will be held at the Church on Wednesday, November 25, at 7 PM. Please join us in giving thanks to God for his many blessings!
We welcome your attendance at any or all of our Church services.
