Thanksgiving Pie Sale Is Coming

At the October 14 meeting of the Andover Service Club (ASC), one of the most successful fundraisers, the annual Thanksgiving Pie Sale, was discussed and sign-up sheets were distributed. The sale will be held on Tuesday, November 24 and Wednesday, November 25, from 11 AM until 6 PM at Circle K in Andover (across from Belletete’s). Nine inch pies are $9. each with a nice assortment of fruit, pumpkin, and nut pies, all homemade by the ladies of ASC. The “Gifts Galore” raffle tickets will also be sold at the pie sale. Baskets will contain a variety of gifts, handmade crafts, and gift certificates. Winning tickets will be drawn at the Christmas luncheon. Proceeds from the sales will benefit the ASC Merit Scholarship program.

The ASC members are looking forward to the annual Christmas luncheon to be held at 74 Main Restaurant in New London, December 9, at 11:30 AM.

Last September, fundraising letters were mailed to local businesses and fliers were inserted in The Beacon. ASC is grateful to the people who responded so promptly, and reminds those who have not, as yet, to please remember ASC and our 57 years of service to the community, by making a donation in any amount you can afford. All donations are tax deductible as ASC is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

The Thrift Shop highlighted Breast Cancer Awareness for the month of October with a special “pink” clothing sale and pink signs advertising the event.

New ASC members are always welcome and encouraged to join us, because we cannot, as an organization of dedicated volunteer women, continue to serve our community without the hard work and service of so many wonderful ladies who have selflessly given their time, talent, and support for the past 57 years. Therefore, if you are a woman who can devote some time and energy in service to the community, come join us. We are always looking for fresh ideas, and new faces, to help ASC in its mission, while making new friends in a very friendly atmosphere.
