Andrea Paquin Headlines March Coffeehouse

Doors open at 6 PM on March 18

Press release

Connecticut-based folk-rock singer-songwriter Andrea Paquin will headline the cast of performers on Friday evening, March 18, at the monthly Andover Community Coffeehouse concert offered in the Highland Lake Grange Hall in East Andover. The event, which begins at 7 PM, is open to the public at no charge; donations are gratefully accepted.

Paquin’s songs “tell vivid stories using clever, memorable melodies and harmonies along with captivating lyrics,” according to a reviewer. A self-taught musician and vocal artist, her work has been recorded on four albums, and much of her life, both onstage and offstage, has been devoted to working with and for individuals with developmental disabilities. Find out more at AndreaPaquin.com.

Also appearing onstage will be up to a dozen open-microphone performers, whose contributions in previous months have ranged from the spoken word to show-business, jazz, folk, bluegrass, and country-and-western tunes.

Doors to the Grange Hall will open at 6 PM for food purchases offered by the Andover Congregational Church and for open-mic sign-ins on a first-come, first-serve basis. Sponsor for the evening is the Andover branch of Lake Sunapee Bank, whose donation covers rental of the Grange Hall.

Coming up on Friday, April 15: From Massachusetts, the Mary Maguire Band, a quartet featuring “magnificent vocals propelled by sure-fingered picking and rock-solid rhythms that get folks off their seat and onto their feet – weaving American roots of swing, western swing, bluegrass, folk, and country.” Google “Mary Maguire Band” for more information.

Information about future dates and scheduled performers and a photographic record of past performers, both headliners and open-mic participants, are shown on the Coffeehouse Web site at AndoverCoffeehouse.org, or on the Facebook page “Andover Community Coffeehouse.”

Video recordings of past programs are shown on a number of community-access channels across the state and may be viewed at any time on Andover’s town Web site at Andover.NH.us by clicking on “Town Information” and then “Video Archive.” The video programs are produced by volunteers at Andover Community TV.
