Poetry and Pastries at Danbury Library for National Poetry Month

Friday, April 22

Press release

On Friday, April 22, at 6:30 PM, Danbury will celebrate National Poetry Month with its Second Annual Poetry and Pastries. Last year was great fun so you won’t want to miss this event. This is an opportunity for local residents—young and old—to once again, read poetry, their own or favorite verses by other authors. Readers and listeners alike are invited to enjoy delightfully sweet pastries. The event is co-sponsored by the Speaker Series at the South Danbury Church and the Friends of George Gamble Library. Pastries will be provided by The Friends and the event will be hosted by the South Danbury Church.

All donations for the evening will benefit the Library. The Library is located at 29 Route 104 (near the Danbury Post Office) and is open on Wednesdays, from 1 to 6 PM, and Saturdays, from 10 to 3 PM. To sign up to read your selection of poetry (of up to five minutes), please call 768-3765 and confirm your slot on the roster and/or just stop by the Library to check out all the new things that are happening there.

The historic South Danbury Church is located at 1411 US Route 4. For more information about the speaker series call 768-3191.
