Imagination into Art Returns to Wilmot on June 24 and 25

Jay Koron of Andover will be among 14 local artists who will participate in the Wilmot Community Association’s (WCA) fourth annual Imagination into Art on Friday and Saturday, June 24 and 25, at the WCA’s Red Barn at 64 Village Road in Wilmot Flat.

The art exhibit and sale will open with a reception from 5 to 7 PM on Friday, June 24, at the Red Barn. During the reception, artists will exhibit completed works and demonstrate their technique. Imagination into Art will continue from 9 AM to noon on Saturday, June 25, at the Red Barn.

Wilmot artists who will show their work include: Mark Beerman, Dana Dakin, Sue Finney, Zack Jonas, Connie Jordan, Ann Feeley Kieffer, John Monto, Nancy Schlosser, Rette Solomon, Leslie Tuttle, Leslie Ward and Lisa Whitcher. Marilyn Wendling of New London will also participate in the show.

Several artists have donated a work to be sold during a silent auction Friday evening.

“We are pleased to host a show that features so many of our very talented local artists,” said Judy Hauck, WCA board member and organizer of Imagination into Art. “The works include beautiful handmade quilts, pottery, sculpture, metalwork, photographs, jewelry, and paintings in several media.”

Wine and hors d’oeuvres will be served at the Friday evening reception. A $15 donation per person is suggested.

The WCA owns and operates the Red Barn, a community center on Village Road in Wilmot. The WCA also owns and operates Timothy Patten Park, where local community members enjoy summer activities such as swimming, playing volleyball, or sharing a picnic supper.

The WCA sponsors many events, including the Black Fly Blitz, Pie Breakfast, Scarecrow Decorating Contest, Halloween party for children, the annual holiday craft fair, and the Wilmot Express.

The WCA’s office is open from 9 AM to noon, Monday through Wednesday and by appointment.
