NH Executive Council, Republican, Paul Carreiro

Opinion - Op Ed - CarreiroI believe We Are All District 1 Strong, and I know we all have a sense of place and love our home. The current and future security of the special quality of life we are deeply connected to hinges on many decisions made in Concord. I recognize that District 1 families struggle on a monthly basis with decisions such as whether to pay the property tax bill, buy tires for their used truck to pass inspection to get to work, or heat their home.

Reasonable, balanced budgets, developed while conscious of how much the people can afford to commit, must be the bottom line, driven by opportunity for growing business, not government. A vibrant, free-market economy sustaining living-wage jobs with benefits bolsters our generational family structures, while the foundation for the creative engines powering successful business is an available, affordable, and varied educational process that continues for all ages.

We have the courage and ingenuity to develop vehicles encouraging stable retirement systems, and opportunities will also come from within our communities to leverage valuable healthcare resources to generate models of quality care that improve patient outcomes.

Though the challenges are many and difficult, I have faith knowing we are stronger and will be successful while navigating them as a team. Victory continues every day we swing our feet over the edge of the bed and, together, engage to move the needle in a positive direction in Concord and Keep New Hampshire, New Hampshire. Thank you very much.
