NH Senate, Democrat, Andrew Hosmer

During the past two years I have remained focused on finding practical, common-sense solutions to expand opportunity for all Granite Staters.

Through strong bipartisan efforts, we passed a fiscally responsible budget that funded our state employees employment contract, increased funding for substance use disorders, and cut business taxes for the first time in over 20 years. These bipartisan efforts have also resulted in New Hampshire increasing its Rainy Day Fund balance to over $100 million and freezing tuition at our community colleges and university system.

I’m proud of Democrats and Republicans uniting to renew the New Hampshire Health Protection Act (NHHPA). Fifty thousand citizens are enrolled in this program and now have access to affordable health insurance. The NHHPA is good for people, good for the economy, and critically important in our efforts to address behavioral health and addiction issues.

New Hampshire is a great place to live, work and raise a family. My wife and I have worked in our local family business for over 20 years. Our business employs almost 200 people, and we take pride in our community. New Hampshire is our home and where we are raising our four school-age children.

It’s clear, though, that New Hampshire is facing significant challenges. We must aggressively confront our addiction crisis, skyrocketing energy costs, and the downshifting of state expenses onto the backs of property tax payers. I commit to remain focused on bipartisan, practical problem-solving so we can successfully solve these problems. I ask for your support.
