NH House District 1, Republican, Anne Copp

Many of you already know me, whether it is 12 years as an Andover Lion, or volunteerism at the local and state levels, or my activism for principled candidates, or to take the helm and run for office myself. I understand what needs to be done and am determined to make a difference.

I have always said “I will be a proud statesman, not a politician; I will give the office the energy and integrity it deserves.” We need citizen legislators, not career politicians; we need men and women in office who will stand proudly on principle guided by our Constitution and our Bill of Rights.

#1 New Hampshire business taxes are among the very highest in the nation. Small businesses are closing, and young families are leaving our state to find better-paying jobs. New Hampshire can do better.

#2 Education is one of my top priorities. I support charter schools, school choice, and local control. We need to enrich our children’s education by empowering parents and teachers.

#3 If elected as your State Representative, I will work hard to get our economy moving again. I will fight against any and all efforts to enact a state income tax or state sales tax, or new taxes and fees. I will make educating the next generation a top priority and keep government transparent and accountable to the people.

My pledge to the citizens of my district is to meet with them once a month at town meetings to hear their concerns. A citizen legislature is supposed to be exactly that: representative of the constituents in our districts. “If not me … who? If not now … when?” – Ronald Reagan.
