Dennis Carl Stevens

Sutton, NH-Dennis Carl Stevens, 63, of Chalk Pond Road, died on March 8, 2018 at the White River Junction VA.
Born on August 29, 1954, Dennis graduated from Merrimack Valley High School.  He served in Korea in the US Army from 1974-1976.
Dennis worked for RP Johnson and Son from 1975-1985 and then as the Assistant Road Agent for The Town of Sutton from 1985-2014.
Dennis was an avid sportsman.  In his younger days, he was the MVP for basketball and baseball at MVHS and went on to help coach youth baseball for the Sutton Little League.  He loved to play golf on the men’s golf league at the Country Club of NH. An avid fisherman, he belonged to the Andover Fish and Game Club.
Dennis married Carrie A. Huntoon in 1981 and had two children, Jesse Carl Stevens who predeceased him in 2003 and Jayme Rose Stevens, his favorite fishing partner of North Sutton, NH and her three children, Sierra, Taylor and Jaxson.

Dennis grew up in foster homes with his twin sister, Darlene Dunbar.  He was reconnected with a younger sister, Debra Provencher of Concord, NH in 1983.  They grew a strong bond and before her death in 2014, Deb was able to locate four other brothers and sisters.  A family reunion took place with all living siblings and their children and grandchildren.
Surviving members of the family include his daughter, Jayme Rose Stevens of North Sutton, NH and her children, Sierra, Taylor and Jaxson; and siblings, Darlene Dunbar of Concord, NH, Robert Ingalls of MA, Ralph Haley of VT, Susan Underwood of ME and Robert Kendall of MO.
Friends may call at the Chadwick Funeral Home, 235 Main Street, New London, NH on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 from 4:00-6:00 P.M.  A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 12:00 Noon at The First Free Will Baptist Church of North Sutton.  Burial will be held in North Sutton Cemetery at a later date.
