ANDOVER – Peter M. Brodeur of Andover died of a heart attack while driving home on Sunday, May 20, 2018. Born in Concord on Aug. 7, 1959, he grew up in Penacook.

In the past he had worked at the Mt. Kearsarge Indian Museum as one of their most popular tour guides. Here he acquired his love of Native American culture that led to his start as a storyteller. As a storyteller he was well known in New England. He was a member of Central New Hampshire Storytelling Guild, co-founder of New Hampshire Storytelling Alliance and on their board of directors. He was also a member of New England Storytellers, formerly LANES, and past North East District Representative for the National Storytelling Network. He enjoyed the International Storytelling Festival at Jonesborough, Tenn. for many years.

He was a long time employee of Presidential Oaks in Concord, where he worked in their Activities Dept. His ease with people of all ages and his eagerness to make new friends was evident from an early age. As a child he was always the first to find playmates wherever the family stopped to camp on summer vacations.

Peter is survived by his siblings, David Brodeur of Olympia Wash., Aimee Johnson and her husband, Don of New Lebanon, N.Y., Judith Brodeur of Hill and Mark Brodeur of Boscawen; as well as his life long friend “True” Ricker of Andover. A nephew, Kyle Johnson and niece, Aria Brodeur, and his many friends in the storytelling community.

Several tributes are planned for Peter; including, Tea and Tales Tuesday, May 29, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Franklin Studios, 362 Central St., Franklin. The Corner House Inn in Center Sandwich is dedicating their 30th Dinner and Storytelling season ending gala to Peter on Thursday, May 31. Presidential Oaks is planning their own memorial for residents and staff.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, June 3 from 2 to 4 p.m. at New Covenant Christian Church, 31 Lindsay Court, Laconia.
