William Natale Samuel Scalora, 88, of Narragansett passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on Sunday, August 4. Born on December 25, 1930 in Lawrence, Massachusetts, he was the youngest of nine children by his parents Carmello and Paolina (Rosa) Scalora.
Mr. Scalora received his Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy from Purdue University. After college he was drafted in the U.S. Army serving in San Antonio, Texas, where he worked in the hospital. Once out of the Army he married the love of his life Elaine (Crane) Scalora and raised five children in Branford, Connecticut. Upon retirement he and Elaine divided their time between the homes they built in Andover, New Hampshire and Seagrove, Florida.

William shared and lived a strong Catholic faith with his wife, family and friends. He enjoyed art, actively painting and creating pottery in his studio. In his younger days he was an avid tennis player and was a huge supporter of all his children’s and grandchildren’s athletic endeavors. He loved listening to music and always entertained his family by singing on their frequent road trips to the coast of Maine to camp and the mountains of New Hampshire to ski.

He is survived by his five children and twelve grandchildren: Catherine Scalora Ferraro and her husband Guy of Orange, Connecticut, their daughters Isabella and Elaina, William Scalora his son Jace and his wife Gerilyn, Amy Scalora Wooten and her husband Carl and their children, William, Luke, Gabriel and Elizabeth, Peter Scalora and his wife Wendi and their daughters Sophia, Vanessa and Olivia, all of Narragansett, and Paul Scalora of Tuscan, Arizona and his children Walter and Giana.
