By Beacon StaffNo, you aren’t seeing double. On the Fourth of July, just at noon, Charlie Darling, in full regalia, visited a larger-than-life cutout of himself impersonating Uncle Sam. The Andover Fourth of July Committee had placed the cutout on the Village Green in hopes that people would enjoy taking pictures of themselves with Uncle Sam in a safe, physically distanced manner. “Remembering all the fun and excitement of years past, the Village Green seemed especially bleak and empty,” Charlie reports. “I hope we never see another Fourth like 2020.”
